Rent A Property service to tenant

<p>I viewed a unit and Rent A Property was the letting agent. I made a note in their register and told the sales agent that the place need to be cleaned and I will accept the unit then. I signed the lease and I was depayed to move in on the 14 February 2017. I had to fumigate and clean the property. I then bought a new water closet seat. I could not use the stove or oven and the water closet. The owner Moosa Patel got maintenance guys to make appointments with me and I toook time from work and they would not come. Eventually on a Sunday they fixed some of the issues. The water closet is not flushing since then and I obtained a qoute from Builders Warehouse. They told me to pay for it and fix it and they will reimburse me. I refused to do this as they told me the same about the water closet seat and after I fixed it and paid for it I was not reimbursed. I asked Rent A Property Ruimsig to also email me the Electricity account they did it once at the end of May 2017. With my latest statement at the end of June for July"s rent there was no electricity statement. I also pay R 50-00 for a panic button that I never received.</p> <p>Fortunately it was a month to month agreement and I gave notice to vacate at the end of July 2017. I decided to pay R 2800-00 less on my July rental. The reason being I have to pay admin fees, removal truck, deposits for a new rental unit within such a short space of time. This is due to the inconvenience caused by Rent A Property as they are not willing to assist me with having repairs done etc.</p> <p> </p> <p>They paid my electricity and rent deposit to the owner. I refuse to pay the R 2800-00 and told them to recoup it from my deposit. They sms me every day and call me once a week for this payment.</p> <p> </p> <p>I called the rental tribunal but as I am vacating the property I dont want to carry on with fighting for my rights.</p> <p> </p> <p>I will tweet and inform people of Status Mark Rent A Property's service. They have the audacity to tell me that I have inspected the property and must live like this. I took photos of the state that I found the property in and will show these pictures to anyone</p>
