Not fixing the problem

We bought a Suzuki Jimny from the Penta Suzuki in Menlyn in October last year. With the vehicle we asked for a towbar to be fitted as our previous Jimny had one and was traded in for the new one, when we put in the request for the towbar we specifically asked if it would fit a trailer where the salesperson asked what trailer we have and we told him a camp master roadster 200 where he answered that it would fit we do not have to worry the day we took delivery of the vehicle that was on the 2nd of November we asked the gentleman who assisted us at that time if the towbar can be extended as it looked way to short his reply was yes it can, the next day i had to go back to sign some more papers and asked him again if the towbar could extend where he rep**** that he would go find out from the workshop upon his return we were told that the towbar can not be extended but that we would have no problem hooking a trailer. Boy was he wrong we went on holiday at the end of December and packed the trailer when the time came to hook the trailer we couldn't get it hooked the trailer clip could not be pulled up as the space between the wheel and the towbar were to little, after struggling of about what felt like five hours we phoned the dealers and the gentlemen in the workshop suggested that we bring in the vehicle for them to have a look at it, he looked at the towbar and said that the towbar is correct he suggested that to help us they could turn the towbar around which they did, that gave enough space for the trailer to be hooked , but the vehicle to enroumase strain from pulling the trailer as it was pulling downwards, just to state that the trailer was not over packed, when we returned from our holiday we went back to the dealer to complain abount the towbar and the stain it had put on the vehicle. We asked now another gentleman in the workshop if they can't fit a longer extension and he told us that there towbars are standard and that we are the first persons to complain about the towbar. He suggest that we get a drop plate to extend the towbar, we bought one and asked them to fit it, that did not work as the towbars shape is not making space to tighten the *****s to hold the plate. The gentlemen hinted that it's possible that the trailer is loaded to heavy, really how can a small tent two chairs, two stretchers and two plastic tables that's been loaded in the trailer make that to heave, i can easily pick up the trailer and move it around. He started to want to shift the blame to us that the trailer was loaded to heavy that's why we couldn't get it hooked. We told him that the problem is the towbar it's way to short it sits right under the spare wheel , he then suggested that we bore another hole in the extension to bring it more forward but that if something then goes wrong that we would be liable as this is classified as a modification and that they would not take responsibility if something went wrong, how can you suggest to do the modification and in the same breath say that you would not take responsibility if something went wrong. We told him as well that it's not just the extension that are to short, the whole towbar are skew and the frame on the vehicle as well. He said that it's not and if it is it would not make a difference to towbar. We are not happy with this on our previous Jimny we fitted a towbar and had no problems with hooking and pulling the trailer as the extension was long enough to hook the trailer and even open the back door of the vehicle with this one you can't even open the back door. With them turning around the towbar has damage our trailer and surely our vehicle as well. We would like then to take of the towbar and refund us for it so that we could go somewhere else to fit another towbar. One that we would not struggle with to hook and pull the trailer.
