Jeep Penta Melyn - Hows this for pathetic service...?

Dear Jeep SA,

My name is Ian de Jong and on the 6th of March had a brake down. Vehicle was towed to Penta Menlyn and was informed the V-Belt came off, and needs replacement. I agreed and was charged R15 500 or there about. I gave the go ahead for a service as well, since I want my car in perfect condition to trade in.

Covid 19 happened, and my car was trapped at their premises. After plenty of follow ups since beginning of June 2020, I could strangely all of a sudden go pick up my vehicle the same day after throwing my toys a bit one day. I rented a Avis from Mosselbay and traveled with my 75 year dad, for a short trip to Pretoria and back.

June 1st,2020 I came to collect my car and was informed no body has test drive my car yet, but is ready to go. Paid R22500 with blood money, being without work since January and not able to return offs**** international. Being a trustable workshop, I opted for driving off, without being tested. Car drove fine with dad and I driving around to take him to dr's appointments. That night I had to travel to town, and first notice my heater not working since being very cold. Then I noticed the temp gauge not working. I knew it must be water. Opened hoop and found radiator empty and car boiling over. Car eventually stalled and towed back to Penta Menlyn.

The next day I was informed by Andre the workshop manager, that there is no compression on my engine, and that the expect heat seized, and will need my authorisation to open the engine for a job card!!! Also, after explaining my transport arrangements, was offered a very generous 50% of car rental fees, back to Mosselbay, cause this might take time..........

I lost it and shared my story on social media and the support and frustration with the public was immediately noticed by you, and Penta. I was contacted and asked to come see Fransisco Gaie at their premises on June 5th. Was informed by Fransisco that they will speak to their second hand dealers and buy back my car. Was asked to please remove my social comments which I honoured. He will get back to me the end of Friday with an offer. Then he asked me to extend to end of Saturday, but I was generous and said take the weekend and get back to me Monday...

Then I was informed that they couldn't find an offer better that R20****!!!!!!!!!!

I thought if I can get him buyers it would help. He hasn't phoned any leads a gave him of serious buyers who would offer R20k just for the tyres!!!!

Customer Care at Jeep has promised me since Friday someone will contact me....Nothing!!! Yesterday I was promised again I will receive a phone call today....

So moral of the story.... - I'm stuck in Pretoria with my 75 year old dad, without any means of getting home, since I don't have 50% for car rental back home.. - I don't have a cent since my last money, I borrowed I gave to Jeep for a service that means ****, and a replaced v-belt that caused this whole ordeal... - I noticed there is only real concern from Jeep SA if I go social..

Please contact me ASAP if you don't want to see Jeep SA's declining business come to a slow down. I've got plenty of material and evidence I will mix in with all recorded voice conversations, I will gladly edit into a nice rememberable video clip for you guys, the post easier on social platforms.

In the mean time I gave Fransisco the heads up to conclude his report on the cause of car failure, I want to remove my car for independent survey.

I need light of what you will arrange for replacement transport back home?

I will get in contact with lawyers to fight for a brand new engine you guys *****ed up after a R22500 bill. Not even 8 hours out the workshop....

Regards, Ian de Jong
