Extremely bad After sales service
I bought a new Suzuki Swift GLX CVT earlier this year at Penta Suzuki Montana. When the car was only a few (2-3) months old, I could hear the starter taking longer to start the car. Over the next few weeks it only worsened. I told the guy who sold my car that I suspect there is something wrong with my battery. He told me he will get someone from the workshop to phone me (it took them 12 days to phone me back) After I drove 300km over the weekend (150km on Monday) I took my car on the following Tuesday (the car and battery still under warranty) to Penta. The battery test said “good and recharge” (State of Health =72%; State of Charge =50%) They told me it was because of the short distance I drove to work from home every day, keep in mind I drive 300km+ every other weekend (I drove the exact same distance with my previous car for 3 years, the battery never had a problem) They said I should at least drive 5km to and from work for a week then my battery will be charged. I drove 10km+ (detour) every day for a week. There was no improvement. I took the car back and they refused to replace the battery under warranty. They charged my car’s battery for approximately 24 hours after which the State of Charge was only 86%. I was not satisfied. The person that sold the car to me (from Penta Suzuki Montana) told me that my car was the 5th car in the past two weeks at the workshop that had the exact same problem. He also said that the batteries are installed in the cars in India and then shipped to South Africa, in this 6+ weeks, the batteries discharge completely (which is very bad for any battery) They said they will deliver my car to me at my workplace (with the old battery) They were at my work place 3 times before. I again gave them my exact location They drove 53.8km and through an unnecessary toll gate (with my e-tag) to deliver my car, I work 8km from the Montana dealership. They didn’t even apologise. I asked for a manager’s contact details, and I am still waiting. I emailed Suzuki Auto South Africa. Thereafter the sales manager of Penta Suzuki South Africa called me, after I told him what happened, he rudely asked me “now what do you want me to do” I said that I just want a battery that is not faulty, so that I don’t have to worry whether my car will start. He said that he will order a new battery. After a few days I quickly checked the replaced battery at the dealership and saw it was a new one. After I got home I carefully inspected the new battery and saw that it was a smaller battery with less cold cranking amps Every time that my car was in the workshop, they didn’t phone me once to give me an update or feedback. I had to call them every time. The after-sales staff was rude any time I contacted them. I will never recommend them ever again, and will avoid them as far as possible.
