Client-De*****ing, Pathetic Service, and Superiority Complex by Penta Group
This Dealership certainly has a brand integrity problem, which seems to be compounded by a superiority complex - at least in relation to me.
1. Yesterday, I take my car in for fixing the interior light as well as the bonnet opener, which had been mysteriously omitted when I collected the vehicle November 30th. And I also asked them to have a look at the aircon pump and emphasised that I simply need a Quote on it. Then I receive a Quote of R24K, which I politely turned down. On fetching the vehicle, there is smoke coming from the bonnet, and this happens hardly two kilometres after leaving the dealership. This seems too coincidental, in my view?
2. When I collected this vehicle, following service, on November 30th, I had had to pay R27K - understandably because there were other aspects that required replacement of parts, as it is an old vehicle (2005 Model). But now, here is the inconsistency:
2.1 The Quotation I had been given was R27K and some odds, but now when I contacted the Service Manager telephonically, he informed me it would actually cost me R33K. And, when I raised a concern with the Dealer Principal, the amount reverted back to R27K. Is that a prudent approach to client service?
2.2 That vehicle had been with the Penta Group service workshop for more than three weeks BEYOND the date on which I was promised it would be ready for collection. And when I spoke with the Service Manager at the end of November he informed me that the reason that they have not contacted me is because the Service Advisor I was being attend to by is no longer with the Dealership. Now, in my view, this points to someone who is convinced that I am much more stupid that I possibly actually am? On what basis could he perhaps have thought so little of my reasoning capabilities - it could be too clear a narrative to expatiate on? Hence, my assertion that there seems to be a superiority complex of some sort, embedded onto the value proposition of this Dealership?
Let me conclude by stating that when I fetched this vehicle yesterday afternoon, I did inform the new Service Advisor, Mr Hezekiel Bokaba, that based on my recent experience with them, I suspect that now that I have turned down their Quote, this vehicle would turn out to have had a new problem when leaving the service workshop. And, as if I am a sangoma, two kilometres later, this fear of mine was actualized?
