A holding deposit means nothing

This dealer made us pay a holding deposit to secure a car and told us the next day that it was sold while we were sorting out our finance. They charged us a bogus fee or R1150 for F&I fee which they couldn't adequately explain, just that they charge it for every deal even if we doing our finance independently but because we really wanted the car we were willing to let it slide.

They then tried to get another car from another dealer that we had seen to try sell it to us for R10 000 more than what that dealer was selling it for.
