Removal Nightmare - Peninsular Removals

I live in the Atlantic seaboard, so google searched Peninsula Removal Services 2, as they are based in Sea Point. I temporary moved house and used Peninsular to facilitate my move on the 1st of December. The bigger and more permanent move was to take place on Sunday the 31st of March 2019. I paid almost 50% more to make sure Peninsular arrive with more men and another vehicle, to make the move easier.

AB the foreman arrived with only four men, when we agreed on 6 men. He was rude and not interested, he told me to speak to Paul the owner of the company, and it’s not his problem. He explained he is only moving items on the list. After reading the list, explained this was not the correct list, he was given the list from my previous move a few months earlier.

I informed him that we are moving home and all the contents need to be moved, he refused to continue with the move. AB phoned the owner Paul, he explained he was busy and could not attend to this matter. AB needs to sort it himself. I could feel the tension and agreed AB could move only the items on the list, I would make another plan to move the other items. I went back inside the house to continue packing only to be informed by my 9 year old son that the movers have left.

I’ve been to the police station to report this incident, Peninsular have not refunded my Deposit. I’ve had to incur major additional costs in order to get the move completed. The stress of moving is enough to have to deal with, this I do not wish on anyone, moving with young children and have to endure this nightmare, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS REMOVAL COMPANY!
