Pathetic service and continued failed promises and lies from Penguin Pools
<p>We contracted with Penguin Pools over 9 months ago to build a pool and 9 months later we still waiting for the pool to be finalized - We have had huge delays and false promises throughout the process - Initially there was delays in marbeliting the pool and then in early December the pool was suppossed to be completed but they continuously promised to come and finish work but every week was a different story or excuse - In the end in December after the pool was filled we had it standing for over 3 weeks before the pool pump and heat pump was fitted - Until today we are still waiting - 2 months later for Penguin Pools to provide us with the top cover for the pool pump and to complete the concrete base for the heat pump (The heat pump is standing on bricks and the pool pump cover is missing (was never provided) and we had to cover it from being damaged with all the rain) - Their manager Vincent is a compulsive **** with false promises and the sales agent Riaan is probably the worst of the lot - continues to call my wife to sign off the pool and only calls when they want money although work not complete - the owner is probably the most rotten of the lot as he does not reply to messages or emails - I have now held back the final payment until this is sorted out - next steps is to take them to Conumer Commission as per the Consumer Protection Act - I invite any other parties with similar issues with Penguin Pools to send me their complaints to ********** and I will include that with my complaints in my submission to the CPA next week</p>

your complaints and all your correspondence have been reported to the construction team on numerous occasions by Vincent and Riaan.
we apologise that no one has rectified your problem or contacted you from the construction department of penguin pools.

Following my complaint yesterday and following the response above no action to date which is not unexpected - with all the rains in Pretoria we now have a problem, as we have not been provided the cover for the swimming pool motor and it is now not working - I had an independent swimming pool specialist look at it for me - it seems that it was not fitted correctly and water has collected in the motor with out the cover and it not being placed in an approipriate place - We have no choice put to pursue legal action and I have now handed over to my lawyers - I urge anyone wanting to install a pool not to use Penguin Pools as they are an ********* and ************ business who is only after your money and dont care about the service - My conclusion - the only way of resolving matters with them is through a formal legal process unfortunately

After chasing up with Penguin Pools they came through last week to sort out matters - still no satisfaction as the pool motor is still not working and continued promises of sorting out with no action. A company I would definitely recommend to peopel not to use in the future as theie service is non-existent and they are not willing to meet their contractual obligations

I now have a pool completed in early December and we now in March that is unuseable. In addition personnel from Penguin Pools (Riaan and a guy called Nico) have called and harassed and threatened my wife to sign a handover form although pool incomplete and now in a state of disrepair. We are considering laying a charge against these 2 individuals for harassment. Also suddenly we now owe them R3,000, which was not on original bill. - In addition Vincent continues to promise and not deliver - I have now been asked to refrain from posting on Hello Peter because they have "acknowledged my complaint" but contnue to do nothing about it - Will see you in court - Penguin Pools and their dishonest and ************ owner Derek du Plessis
