Bad Service from Christian Campsite
For a Christian campsite, I must say I am rather disappointed with the service or treatment that I have been getting from Amanda Swartz the manager of Pelican Lodge.
I saw the lodge on the internet and it was really presented well. Once I booked the venue for a camp I asked if I can view the venue, we agreed on a day and time. I arrived but nobody was there and when I called both her landline and cell she didnt pick up. She then got back to me and organized another day for viewing. I was not pleased at all as the venue did not look like what they presented on their website but because I had already made a deposit which is nonrefundable ,we went ahead with the camp.
In addition to the camp fee for the weekend we had to pay R700 refundable breakage fee. The booking form clearly states that it will be refunded within 10 days after the camp. It is almost a month now and I havent received anything. I have called Amanda and sent her emails and even got my brother to call her but still haven’t received the refund. She told my brother that we left late on our last day so there is a penalty, we did leave late but I have an email asking her to give us until 3pm on out last day of which she agreed upon and said nothing about this affecting the deposit due to us.
The booking form states that if we want to leave late we must speak to management in advance and that is what i did. However even if there is s penalty for leaving late, it surely doesnt add up to R700.
The one thing that makes me more upset is that she continues to ignore my emails and calls. She is a dishonest person which is contrary to how they portray themselves as a Christian campsite.
