Won't fix poor quality jewelry

I bought 2 bracelets from your Clearwater Mall branch on 6 March 2016 (***).

It is noted that these bracelets have a magnetised clasp.

During the 1st week of June 2016, noted to be within 3 months of purchase. The magnetised clasp on one of the bracelets came loose, while the other remained fine.

On 11 March 2016 I went to your store in Clearwater Mall to submit the bracelet for return.

I was met with the owner of the store who informed me that I only had one week from the date of purchase to return an item for repair. The repair now will cost me a minimum of R180.

I made noted that the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 protects customers against poor quality. As one bracelet broke while one remained fine was an indication that the broken bracelet was produced at a lower quality.

The owner refused to acknowledge my right as a consumer and kept repeating the ‘store policy’ of 1 week else I have to pay.

She informed me I can email customer care. I asked if there was a direct contact number as I would prefer to talk to someone rather that be impersonal. She rep**** that she is now seeing me personally.

I emailed the 'customer care' on 13 June 2016 and have not had any response to date.
