Unprofessional Business Manner - Peace Cottage Hillcrest KZN

The Peace Cottages in Hillcrest KZN are assisted living facilities for the elderly. Sister Kerry is very convincing when she sells you on her facilities, promising all the professionalism of a traditional assisted living / old age facility but in a home based environment where the care is more personal.

What she doesn't tell you is that there is also no structure and no recourse if you have a grievance - she is it... and if she chooses to ignore you there is no further course of action you can take, no chain of command.

I should have realised from the outset, when I struggled to get answers and feedback before I had even signed the agreement that communication and accountability were going to be a problem. At the beginning, when I pushed for answers, Sister Kerry rep**** verbally so there was no record to fall back on.

Now, for two months I have been requesting a reply from Sister Kerry on a financial issue that I have with her. My mom, who was resident at the Peace Cottage, passed away in December and I guess Sister Kerry figures that she has nothing further to gain from us so if she ignores me for long enough I'll go away and she will continue 'business as usual'. I have been polite in my requests, I've sent 3 emails, ccéd an additional 4 peace cottage email addresses in my emails, not one of the people bothered to acknowledge or respond. I also sent 6 WhatsApp messages over the 2 month period, Sister Kerry doesn't even read them!

I write this review to warn others of the unprofessional way in which this 'business' is run and to caution anyone considering these facilities to be very mindful and make sure they get everything in writing. It was a very disappointing experience dealing with Sister Kerry.
