On Tuesday the 07th of August 2018 I browsed the internet for a pair of in-ear monitors and saw an unbelievable deal on the PC Link Computers website where they were selling the “Shure SE846” in ear headphones for R2137.00. (Took a screenshot of this add)
As I know that these items normally sell for R15 000.00 upward I phoned the call centre of this company at 12:37 and spoke to one of the consultants (The claim that all calls are recorded for quality assurance so they probably already heard the phone call) and informed him of the price and that it seemed absurdly cheap and he assured me that it was correct – I then searched the same item on the internet while he was holding on and told him that this item sells for much more expensive on other websites and he again assured me that the price is correct and they do have items in stock.
I then placed the order as by law I did inform them of the price issue and the consultant confirmed that they had stock available.
I phoned them again on the 08th which is today to confirm if I can have the items picked up (I ended up ordering 2 sets of these earphones after being reassured by the consultant and the price on the website) when it arrived in Joburg (as their head offices are there and the consultant said that it will be fine.
They then realized there was an issue and cancelled my order because of “stock unavailability” which is not the truth as the issue is that they made a mistake with the pricing and I followed the “Electronics communications and transactions act” by firstly informing them that there was an issue with the pricing and querying availability before I placed the order and I was reassured.
They are now refunding me but I do not want my money – I want the products that I ordered and their management does not want to phone me.
