Greedy, Bad Service, Poor Communication
TLDR version: If you like being shoved aside for a larger retailers, enjoy things happening unexpectedly, love bad service and poor communication? Then Pc Link Computers is for you!!
Jan 17: I had ordered and paid for a Wifi router battery backup (specifically with PoE capability), only to be told 3 days (Jan 20) later that OneDayOnly had been given priority on all the stock, regardless of the fact that OneDayOnly paid for the stock after I did. This was all evident in an email from Pc Link to myself explaining why my "paid for" item was now magically out of stock.
Pc Link tried to justify their actions by quoting their T's & C's regarding items out of stock but failed to think that I, a human being, could also read their T'c & C's page. At the time, it stated that no items would be released or considered as sold prior to payment in full, meaning that OneDayOnly had to get in line.
This was not the case. Pc Link clearly favoured the larger retailer and put the consumer last. I brought the rest of the T's & C's clause to Pc Link's attention to argue my case and they proceeded to overhaul and rewrite the whole T's & C's page - effectively retroactively amending an agreement. Changing their own rules. In their defense, I did tell them to have a look at all the spelling errors on that specific webpage. It was embarrassing to say the least!
So I had no choice - I had to wait for my "Middle of Feb" delivery date. What was I to do?
To my delight, my parcel then arrived out of the blue on Feb 6th! No warning!
IT WAS THE WRONG DEVICE...
Technically it was the right device, but it was the version that had no PoE ports. This rendered the item useless to me as we rely on a Ubiquiti AP for Wifi, which requires PoE to operate.
"Jaco Venter" from Pc Link tried to convince me that this was the "upgrade" to the "old version" of the device. Give me a break.
I have never had such lackluster service from an online retailer. Jaco had the cheek to ask me to arrange return delivery to their Midrand store in order to get a credit note for a refund. After explaining that the return procedure should not be my problem, the courier arrived today (Feb 10) completely unannounced and without prior arrangement.
At the time of writing, I have not received a refund, nor any indication of when I will get one, if at all.
It's also impossible getting someone from Pc Link on the phone. Worse than "The Reliable Store". Ironic, I know...
What a dream to deal with. 10/10 for them. Go there instead. Stay away from Pc *****
