Worthless Warranty.

<p>I bought a MSI Tomahawk Z270 motherboard from PC Internation as part of a system that cost over R30k. When they were collecting the components, I thought it odd when I saw them putting the motherboard back into it's box in the manager's office instead of the workshop and asked if they were tesing it. They said yes and I dismissed my suspicions that they were selling me second hand goods as new.</p> <p>l assembled the computer and everything worked perfectly, Except that it wouldn't read the GTX1080 graphics card. After a brief internet search I found that this problem was common on the MSI Z270 motherboard.</p> <p>I took it to them and let their technician take a look. He took the box into the back and tampered with the system for over an hour, while I waited. When he emerged, he announced that the motherboard was faulty and then pointed out a bent pin on the CPU slot, which he claimed was "like that when he opened it".</p> <p>The pin was duly straightened but the problem remained. I was then told that I had bent the pin and the waranty was void as a result.</p> <p>The price of the motherboard is insignificant, the the principle is not. How the pin was damaged is contestable, but that I was sold a second hand dud and they are now refusing to make good is not in dispute. The pin is not the cause of the PCI slot failure and therefor does not void the warrantee.</p> <p>I will now deal directly with the manufacturer to resolve this issue and will no longer be dealing with PC International. I urge others to be wary of using their services and rather seek out more reputable outlets.</p>
