Paypal demanding unreasonable fees

Paypal has always been a "safe and *****-free" environment. No more! I sold an item for R4500 - the R500 to cover the courier fee - and after waiting for sone glimmer of recognition, they had the gall to ask me for R1150 in "charges"! Where have you ever heard of a fund transfer service which takes 25%? In all my communication with them there was zero assistance, zero human interaction and zero communication. I was just informed that I needed to send the tracking number (which I did three times) then my money would be released. Then suddenly I get billed, with no eft option, only their e-wallet, which is difficult to use. I want my money paid out with no extra charges: it has already taken my entire work morning to navigate my way around the uncommunicative maze of Paypal.
