Absolutely Terrible Experience – Payjoy Is Damaging My Credit Unfairly!
I took a phone through Edgars with PayJoy on 13 August 2024, but was unhappy with the lack of proper explanation about the terms. I contacted PayJoy the very next day (14 August 2024) to cancel the contract and returned the phone to Edgars within the 24-hour window. The phone was checked and accepted by Edgars, and I even bought another phone cash to avoid any further issues.
Despite doing everything correctly and cancelling immediately, PayJoy has REFUSED to remove themselves from my credit profile, and this is now negatively affecting my credit score – for a phone I do not have, and a contract I cancelled in time.
I contacted them again on 21 September, and the agent assured me that the cancellation had already been finalized on 18 September, and that my credit profile would be updated and cleared within 30 days. As of today, absolutely nothing has changed. I continue to be sent in circles between PayJoy and Edgars, with zero accountability from either side.
PayJoy now falsely claims that the phone is “locked” – which is completely untrue – while Edgars insists that they’ve reached out to PayJoy multiple times and are getting no response.
This is completely unacceptable and feels like I’m being punished for following the rules. I owe PayJoy absolutely nothing, yet they are damaging my name and creditworthiness. The lack of accountability, communication, and resolution is appalling.
I would strongly warn anyone considering using PayJoy – avoid them at all costs unless you want your credit profile ruined over a phone you don’t even have!
