Payflex customers beware of the penalties that would be charged for missed payments.
I am disappointed with Payflex in terms of their customer support. Payflex started off with great customer support, however recently they have changed their support strategy by using automated responses with bold letters and exclamations indicating their rules on payments. I find it rude and not customer friendly. I have a debit with them for split installments on purchases made. However, for some technical reason the transaction did not go through on that Sunday. I was notified the next day of the missed transaction, and I tried to make an immediate payment via EFT as an option on their website. However when I tried to make the payment of R140.54, I noticed that the total amount being paid was R265, I then stopped the payment and sent an email to Payflex support to enquire as to why I was charged the additional R125 as I was just a day late and the SMS indicated that if I made an immediate payment, I wouldn’t have to pay the R125. I requested that they adjust the amount so that I could make the payment. I tried several times to make the payment, but Payflex did not adjust the amount. The amount for payment automatically reverts to R265. I sent another email to PayFlex to adjust the amount so that I could make the payment, they kept sending automated responses. I tried their chatbot, they also refer you to the same customer support with the same automated responses. Previously one would get a personalized response by customer support personnel with contact details. Now it seems that only automated responses are being used. A customer cannot even call Payflex as there are no telephonic contact details available. When I signed up for Payflex no mention of these additional amounts a customer would be charged as part of their so called "Rules". if I had known this I wouldn't have signed up to these offerings. Also, it is disappointing to note that if a customer does not pay within 7 days, an amount of R365 will be charged for late payment, irrespective of whose fault it is. I now had to pay the R265 to avoid being charged the R375 that they threaten you with. Has Payflex now become a money-making **** by punishing customers with unfair penalties?
