Pay in 3, installments

I'm so disappointed in Payflex. Wanted to purchase stuff now before Christmas and pay in 3 installments, the 3 installments you can normally pay over 3 months, suddenly now they want one installment on the day of the purchase and the second installment on the 25th..and the last installment 25 January...why suddenly two instalments in one month??
