Thanks for your review.
However, we need to point out that you have erred in your review as you have obviously not read the terms and conditions when you registered or understood the Payflex process.
On each registration screen, there is a Box that has to be selected to continue to register. Next to this box, there is a hyperlink to our terms and conditons, which will take you to https://payflex.co.za/terms-conditions/
To continue with registration you have to select the Box. Next to this Box, there is a sentence that reads "By signing up you agree to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy." You cannot proceed to register unless you have not selected this Box.
When a customer selects this box then consent is provided, by you as the customer, and you are bound by the Payflex terms and conditions.
In terms of the credit check. When you selected the Box, you agreed for Payflex to perform a credit check on you.
Specifically, we refer to point 11.6 which reads as follows, "You agree that we may seek information from any credit bureau when assessing your application, and at any time during the existence of this Agreement."
If the credit check comes back with information that does not conform to our scorecard requirements we reserve the right to decline your application.
Payflex is not obliged to provide a reason for the declined application.
In the T and C's Point 4.3. reads as follows: "We do not guarantee acceptance to the Pay-Later Service and reserve the right to decline your request for the Pay-Later Service at our sole discretion, even if you have previously used the Pay-Later Service and paid your instalments in full and on time for other transactions."
A very important point is that Payflex does not charge qualifying customers any interest. Therefore we are not bound by the National Credit Act. Ergo we do not advance credit in the traditional way, but provide customers with a free spending plan.
Payflex is however bound by basic rules of conduct in terms of "Responsible Lending". In so doing we are required by law to perform a credit check, to ensure customers are able to pay back the spending plan that Payflex provides.
We note that you did not enquire with our support desk at s u p p o rt @ p a y f l e x . c o . z a to understand why you were declined, but chose to go to Hello Peter instead.
Our assumption is that you were aware of your bad credit record and history. Feeling bruised at being declined by Payflex, your immediate reaction was to log a Hello Peter review, which is a great pity.
We trust the above clarifies everything for you and that any other customer reading this reply will understand the position of Payflex in this regard.
Kind Regards
The Payflex Team
