Poor service at Paxton Luxury Apartments in Port Elizabeth
I stayed at the Paxton Luxury apartments, a self-catering accommodation in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha, from 30 December 2023 to 2 January 2024. When I checked in on 30 December 2023, an amount of R2000 was locked on my credit card by Paxton Luxury apartments to cover for any potential damages or losses to the resort's equipment during my stay. The understanding was that the block would be released from my card immediately upon checkout, if it was found that no damage or losses had been caused by myself. Upon checkout, I was told that there were no damages or losses, and that the block on my card would be released, but however that this would happen in 5 to 7 days and not immediately as I was initially told by Paxton apartments. I was not happy with this change of arrangement, but accepted it nonetheless. Paxton luxury apartments did not honour this agreement because as of today, 29 January 2024, the blocked amount is still not released on my card. It has almost been a full month. I have contacted Paxton Luxury apartments numerous times by email and telephone and they keep assuring me that will follow up with their bank. There is no feedback from Paxton Luxury apartments unless prompted by me and I find this unacceptable. In all my travels, locally and overseas, I have never received such treatment and my disaffection with Paxton Luxury apartments is palpable. I will never book to stay at Paxton Luxury apartments again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone.
