The 3 to 5 day service that is more like 6 days but probably will be 7 days.

I would just like to warn others about the very poor service offered by PEP PAXI. I needed to urgently send Covid N95 face masks to my sickly gran mother that needed to fly from CPT to Dbn via safair and I wanted to ensure she was safer than using the commonly available cloth face shields. I chose PAXI simply because it was convenient and the promised transport time of 3 to 5 working days would easily be a perfect time frame to get the parcel to them in the Cape. Dropped it off on Saturday, remembering that it is a 3 to 5 working day service, so Monday would be day 1, Friday day 5, okay cool simple enough to understand, well not for PAXI as in day 5 as per the tracking the parcel was still sitting in the Durban hub, it had been sitting there for 5 days. Contacting PAXI for them to say "our courier collected it the following Monday (the 20th). Counting 3-5 business days from this date means the latest delivery date is Monday the 27th before 5pm". So basically the first business day doesn't count now, strange because the packaging that I paid for said very clearly on it 3-5 business days, excluding pickup and delivery day. Upon enquiring clarity I then get told that it will take 6 days but that's fine because actually 7 days is in their terms and conditions. "Yes that is correct, but as per our T's and C's parcels can take 3-7 business days. We only offer reimbur*****ts if parcels are lost". So basically the packaging advertising of 3 to 5 working days is a complete lie, they can take as much time as they want, and on top of all of this they can actually take 9 days to deliver a 3-5 day parcel because hey you cannot include the first business day for pickup or the last business day for Delivery. My suggestion is if you going to post at speed rather use Postnet they will have it there in less than 5 days and you can send a box 5kg no hassle for the same price. Thanks PAXI for dropping the ball, and thanks for your incompetence my Gran flew home this afternoon without her proper Covid N95 face mask. Hats off to you.
