Beware of PAXI
I have been using the PAXI service from Pep for many years now. The last dispatch went something like this: I sent an item via PAXI at Pep Stores Bothasig, to a client who would collect it at Pep Stores in Kenilworth. When I was assisted by the Pep Stores employee in Bothasig, she witnessed me placing the item in the bag, sealing it, and concluded the transaction. When my client was notified of the arrival of the parcel at Pep Stores Kenilworth, he called there to collect. When the Pep stores employee assisted him, he took the parcel from her and opened it in her presence. The parcel was empty, and both my client as well as the Pep Stores employee agreed that it appeared as though the parcel had been tampered with, opened and resealed. I contacted PAXI and was I was assisted lodging a claim. This was early November. For 2 full months, the only response I got from Justin McPherson from PAXI was tickets being opened and tickets being closed. Congrats Justin, you are a bonified ticket examiner. Well done! After much patience, i decided to take a more aggressive approach, and started making a noise. Andrea from PAXI made an effort resolving my issue. She did, she went out of her way to try and help me. However, today, Andrea phoned me, and informed me, that PAXI will not honor my claim, as the parcel was sealed when it arrived at the Kenilworth branch. I will never use this service again, and I want to warn you as well. Your items are not safe with this service. You WILL lose your item and you WILL NOT be paid out a claim.
