Zero stock in shop

We travelled to port elizabeth for 2 days and were so excited to have waffles at the brach in the boardwalk. We went on Sunday 25th June, when we arrived they had absolutely no stock, no ice cream. Nothing, not even in the freezers. How does a shop this big gave absolutely no stock. It's shocking. Needless to say we left pe and traveled back to east london without being able to experience the waffles everyone recommended we try.
