Paula's BAD Choice faulty product and bad customer service

I have a complaint, unfortunately, about a Paula's Choice product bought in South Africa - the " Resist Retinol Serum". After a few pumps the container broke so that it wouldn't pump any more. I contacted the local agent, Maryké Dietrechsen, who has been less than helpful. First she blamed the supplier in the USA and I didn't hear from her again. So after a couple of weeks I contacted her again she said I should just make a plan to use it out of the broken container. I then said I would like a new product. She said the best she could do was refund 80% but I would have to return the product at my own expense. She lives far away from me and the shipping charges would add another 25% to the cost of the product. She said I was lucky as they normally only give 50% refund. I would have thought that an image conscious company like Paula's Choice would at the least replace the product due to the inconvenience and frustration to their customer. Don't buy Paula's it's a bad Choice.

I am afraid that your dedication to your client's needs is anything but unmatched. You sold me a faulty product and are unwilling to replace it. In order to buy the product again I would have to pay 20% of the original price and pay the price of returning the faulty product to you. This adds R 300 to a product thet cost R 870 originally. This makes it R 1270 for a bottle of serum (that cost under R700 last year). I can't afford to pay that. You are forcing me to pay extra money to replace a faulty product. Which means I have paid R 870 and have nothing to show for it. I am not sure how this translates to "unmatched dedication to your client's needs".
