Appalling service by Paul Maher Ford on Beyers Naude Randburg

09 Sep 2021: sitting in my car this morning, inserting a SIM card into my phone. The tiny card accidentally slipped off and hit the bottom of my 'gear cover', slipped under the cover. I get to Paul Maher Ford on Beyers Naude and they are ushering cars in for service. I explained to 2 of their guys that I'm not there for service but they ignore me and treated me like a 'car service' clients anyway - they proceed to cover my seats with a plastic cover, preparing to drive my car into the workshop and direct me to the front desk to 'open a job card'. I explain the same thing to the front desk lady but she tells me they have to book the car in. Eventually I tell them I'd rather go somewhere else then they get one guy to drive my car out. While he's doing that, the other one mumbles something to the other about me. Then in an aloof manner, he tells me it's not a small job, they have to open the car up and it will cost just under R1000. At that point, I just needed to leave. I get to one of the small car repair workshops on 14th Avenue and the guys literally took 10 minutes to open the car gear section up and hand me my SIM card...at no cost. Wow! Appalling service!!! Even if I had to pay, at the least, they could have given me better service and professionally explained their process.
