If you care about your jewelry, don't get it fixed with them

<p>I got married in December 2016 and wanted to get my engagement ring and wedding band joined. I went to Parhenon Jewellery Distributors, Bracken City, Alberton and asked whether they could do it for me. They said that they could indeed join the rings for me, gave me the price and also mentioned that there is a change that the diamonds can fall out, but that they have a diamond setter on site who will then fix it. I had no problem with that as I was warned about it. A few days later, when my ring was ready for collection, I got the shock of my life as the two rings weren't alligned perfectly, all the plating was off and one diamond in the wedding band was missing. Obviously that was the first issue I brought up and I was told that "It is so small, nobody will even notice it". I didn't hand my rings in that way and definitely did not expect it to be returned without its diamonds. They also couln't fix it that day because suddenly they said they didn't have a setter on site. When I asked them about the allignment of the two rings and the plating being off, all response I got was that "sorry, we can't undo the rings now but because I am upset, they will do the replating and fix the diamond for me for free". I was so upset by all of this that I was in tears and worst of all is when the shop manager tried to make as if it was my fault that I was told that this could happen. Long story short, they kept my ring a further 4 days and had the diamond fixed but when I got the ring back, it still looked like there was a hole even though there was something in. Earlier this month I took my ring to the jewelers where we originally bought them from (they don't join rings) and when I asked them about that diamond, the diamond setter who had a look at it, said that the setting is broken, that is why it looks like a hole, and that the diamond is in fact deeper than it should be. I don't know how any one can be happy with something like this, especially if this is a ring I have to wear for the rest of my life.</p>
