Parmalat pathetic

Last year I saw that Checkers had a special on Bonnita Cheddar for R79.90/kg. Being a huge fan of the cheese, I bought eight blocks to the value of over R200 with the intention of eating the first two fresh and putting the additional blocks in the freezer until I needed them. But from those two very first blocks I ate, to every subsequent block I reluctantly pulled out of the freezer, the taste was different, harsh and unpleasant. Then I noticed the cheese was marked "Produced in Scotland".

I am so disappointed that I do not think I will purchase Bonnita cheese again. Passing off imported product as Parmalat's own has undermined my confidence in the brand. If I were to continue being a consumer I would presumably need to check the fine print every time in case Parmalat had pulled the same stunt again. It seems a dishonest and ********* way to conduct business, given the cheese being produced elsewhere obviously has a huge impact on the quality and taste of the product. Doing this without apparent notification to customers was disrespectful of brand loyalty.

What's more, having emailed them in March I was contacted telephonically and asked for more details. These I duly supp****, including notifying them that I had kept one block in the freezer as proof of my claim, only to never hear from them again. I tried emailing them once more and again heard nothing in reply. Somehow Parmalat managed to take an already terrible service situation and actually make it worse. Bravo.
