Pargo and Old Khaki
Good evening I would love to share my experience with Old Khaki (Cape Union Group) and Pargo. On the 26 November 2020 I placed and paid for an online order to the value of R662 for 3 items namely a Leroy T-shirt, Scott Slim Fit Shirt and a Harry Slim Fit Shirt. For those of you who are regular Old Khaki customers, you will probably know that these items were on sale at the time and would have normally added up to a total of R1200. I provided my physical address as well as my contact number when placing this order, and requested standard delivery within 5-7 working days. I was promptly sent a tax invoice by Old Khaki on the 28 November with the reference OK0004…On the same date I received an sms from Pargo to say that they have collected my Old Khaki parcel (reference PAR4068…) and my next update will be the day of delivery. On the 7 December I phoned Pargo ***) at 15:14 to enquire about the whereabouts of my parcel. I was informed that it was indeed strange that the last update they had on their system was also on the 28 November and that they would escalate my order. I was also informed that they would enquire from management as to why I had not been receiving updates and call me back as soon as possible. On the 8 December I phoned Pargo again at 08:32 and spoke to a different clerk. She informed me that the previous clerk had not escalated the order as promised and that she would escalate it for me and call me back when she had details regarding my parcel’s whereabouts. On the 10 December I phoned Pargo once again at 14:48 and spoke to a different clerk who informed me that the previous two clerks had not escalated the order and that she would escalate it for me as well as phone me back as soon as possible with any updates. On the 11 December I phoned Pargo for the final time and spoke to two staff members who informed me that they had no idea why I had not heard back from any of the previous 3 clerks and that my parcel had been sent back to Cape Union Mart as the error was on their part. They also told me that Pargo’s accounts manager had been emailing Cape Union Mart back and forth regarding the issues with certain parcels. On the same day I phoned Old Khaki (***- this was the same number listed on my tax invoice) at 14:29. I was informed by a clerk that the last update they had on their system regarding my parcel was also on the 28 November and I was correct to question why it had not yet been delivered. They had no idea where my parcel was or why I had not received any updates, but she informed me that she would email the senior manager of Pargo to enquire about the issue. According to the Pargo tracking site my parcel was not delivered, as at 11 December 2020. According to the Old Khaki website, my parcel has been shipped. I have sent emails to *** , *** , *** , and *** . I have also sent a direct message to both Cape Union Mart and Pargo via Facebook. On the 12 December 2020 I received an email from *** to apologize for the inconvenience and inform me that my parcel has returned to their online dc and they will resend the parcel this time without failure. I also received a reply from Cape Union Mart’s facebook page to inform me that they will escalate the matter and get a liason to reach out to me as soon as the matter is addressed. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my parcel and I sincerely hope it arrives before Christmas as these items are gifts to loved ones. I will post any further developments in this matter as I feel it is important for fellow consumers to know where they stand with Old Khaki and Pargo.
