No Accountability and after service
I bought a spa (Jacuzzi) from Paradise Spa trading as Unigate. They delivered the spa the first time totlally wrong with jets so low it was useless. They have rectify it but it was only the start. They have a complete tick list what you want but nowhere they specify that you have to switch the spa on and off manually to heat it up. I have bought three other spas before from other suppliers and it is all auto. Nobody in this world have the time to switch a bath on an off by hand to keep the temperature constant. They told me they cannot do it and said one of their subcontractors will do it and it will cost an additional R5000 to do it. I paid it and the system only work for a month. When I queried it the answer was no warranty on the electrical stuff. I had to get other spa suppliers out to fix it at another cost and all is working fine now. Another problem was the jets was coming out, when I queried it I was told they do not manufacture the jets and I had to sort it out with the jet manufactures. Another problem was the wooden box that came apart on the corners, yet again the answer was no warranty on the box. These guys take no accountability nor responsibility for their product.
Paradise spa has manufactured thousands of spas over 20 years. These spas are built according to a standard configuration. Custom setups can be requested. Only after delivery of an entry level setup as per original order, did Mr De Wit request changes made to his spa. A new spa was manufactured and delivered without fuss and free of charge to Witbank Dam (roundabout trip of 360km).
Six months later Mr De Wit wanted further changes made to the spa's control unit by adding a timer and contactor. This has nothing to do with the warrantee (see below). The original configuration allows for the water temperature to be regulated with the thermostat but at this stage he also wanted us to include a timer and contactor free of charge. As we did not agree to this, he used a third party at a cost of R3800.
Manufacturing warrantee: Electrical goods are guaranteed for a period of 3 months and the spa shell with plumbing for 1 year. New jet inserts were supp**** to Mr de Wit at no extra cost
The portable wood frame does not fall within the warrantee. Wood requires maintenance against the elements from time to time i.e. varnish. A small gap opened on two of the corners and was fixed with 2 *****s
