Lovely place, but landlords are the most unreasonable people who treat their tenants like school children in a hostel. I rented a cottage from them for 4 years. Upon the end of my lease of a furnished apartment, they called me to ask me if I had home owner's insurance, seeing that I had "dropped a heavy object" in their bathroom basin which needed to be replaced for the amount of R4000! A year before this I had brought it under the attention of their cleaning lady that that basin had started to have small cracks. The owners were out of the country for a year during that time. I then took photo's of the cracks and got the opinion of a former sales director of a producer of clay basins, who assured me that that was because of wear and tear after 15 years of use. Eventually these people kept R2000 back from my deposit and I have done everything I can to convince them that I did not break the basin. They also charged me for three days of cleaning and chased me out of the apartment while I had been busy cleaning a few days before the end of my contract. That was against their rules to clean your own apartment and I was also told that I had to stop what I was doing immediately.

Today, almost 10 months after I left, I have found out that the basin had never been replaced. I emailed them about this and asked for my money back, but got no reply.
