Poor service to go with a poor product

Ordered a pair of earrings for my wife's birthday online. Ensured when delivered it was the right product delivered. 2 weeks later when presenting the gift to my wife she realised the clasp of the hooped earring was not working when she wanted to wear them for the first time. Now we cannot return to have it fixed or replaced as per their 't&c' ones bought you only have 48 hours to return even if its broken. Poor after sales service and obviously not the best quality as defective product delivered.
