Pam Golding Somerset West - unprofessional

We recently purchased a property in Somerset West, the fact that it was multi million rand transaction should have no bearing on the agents professionalism during the transaction process.

Our experience was very different. We expected the agent to act as a go between the buyer and seller, what we got was the buyers perspective / bias and views throughout out the process. The agent was unprofessional in her approach to us, it was all on the sellers terms. Once the offer to purchase was signed - the agent lost interest and "moved on” we were left to fend for ourselves. I heard Cape Town was "clicky" but never expected this sort of treatment. We were dismissed at every turn both by the agent and the seller.

Simple mail requests took weeks to get a response and only after several follow ups.

An example of the engagement we had is as follows…..We received information that there is a plan to build low cost housing in the surrounding area, I approached the agent for information - the response we received was as follows from the Agent (On what's app) “I dont know anything about this, Please ask the person who gave you this information to give you details of this” We didn’t expect this response - I expected one of a few responses. Such as….…. “ I know the details of the information you require and will share it with you|”. Or "I dont know but I will find out” We indulged in a 30 min google exercise where all details were shared by the area Councillor - surely this is the agents job to know the detail or to know who knows the detail?

When i contrast this to the PG Johannesburg experience, it is like day and night

This missive is a small example of the way this relationship was conducted Needless to say I won't be using Pam Golding Somerset West again after this experience. The agent was Edelweiss Hankey.
