Bad Treatment from Property Agent

On Saturday afternoon, 09 July 2022, I had a bad experience with a Pam Golding Property Agent in Paulshof Sandton by the name of Wesley Govender.

I moved into an apartment that is on sale and a day after moving in Wesley came in for viewing without any appointment. He walked to the main door while I was locking to go for shopping to set up our new home. His first words without any greeting was "who are you?". I rep**** to let him know that I just moved there and he said he does not know about that. I asked him to call the owner and he did try to call once without success. He apologized to his viewers for the inconvenience and the next moment he just walked around the block without any further explanation or request to access the property using the back door. In confusion I followed him to the back door and he was already opening the door. The people who came to view the property apologized to me about the occurrence before they walked in. I was left standing outside in disbelief and actually told him that he was treating me this way because I am black. In my argument, if it was a surprise that I moved in, could he not wait to talk to the owner about this or at least ask me nicely to access the apartment which I would not refuse anyway. When I mentioned about racial segregation he then apologized and went on further to say there is a second person to view the place and he was from far. He had accessed the house and I told him he can go ahead because I did not matter in his view hence he went on to access the house without my permission the first time.

I was so frustrated that when he came with his second client I just drove off and he went on to go with his viewing even when I had left.

My plea is for Pam Golding to train him on how to handle these situations and to treat everyone equal. He should treat everyone with respect regardless of the circumstances they are in to be inside a property. What is more painful is that someone so disrespectful has full access to the property I am living in. That does not give me peace at all. What else can he do if he finds me away?
