Delays in finalising claim

On 17 Nov 2015, my vehicle was scratched by a company driver in the staff parking area. Our colleagues who were being dropped off by the driver witnessed this and immediately called me from my office to show me what had happened and capture the incident on the company OB.

In January, my claim went to the correct department at my employ who then referred me to their broker and their broker to the underwriter Paladin. I've sent ny car for an assessment as I was advised by the underwriter last week on 10 Feb 2016. I don't understand what could be the delay now 're fixing my car. The driver drew a sketch outlining that he was at fault. Instead I was told that a quote from the assessor would be sent to me shortly via email when I received a call from Paladin on 17 February at around 10:00. I called a around 13:00 to advise that no e-mail has come through and was told that she hasn't had the time to send me an e-mail and is awaiting access from the broker.

Now, I ask myself whether that is any of my business as I need my car to fixed. How Paladin operates with their broker Marsh should not be of concern to me. I just need my claim finalised.

Hello Fafie1987,

As we have pointed out, we are waiting for our insured to pay their excess (not access) to us. The excess is the first amount payable by our insured and in this instance, the excess and the amount of your claim are more or less identical. Put simply, as soon as our insured pays the excess to us, we can pay you. We have requested the broker to try and expidiate the matter and we are sure that our insured will pay us as soon as they can.
