We contracted with Paintfellas in mid 2022 for a renovation of our building in the Illovo area in the sum of R437 000. We were promised the usual expertise and supervision. The whole thing was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Supervision by one Justin was non-existent. The owner of the business, Andries, took absolutely no interest in the workmanship and, to his credit, admitted all of our complaints about defects and failures (a total of about 25 all in all) although nothing was done to remedy them. A team of generally inexperienced and unqualified workers was deployed to site, who were not employees of the company but outsourced, against undertakings made by the company. We ended up cancelling the contract. The final payment made by us was almost R200 000 less than the original contract price. Had we been less vigilant, they may just have got away with it, as from the outside things looked more or less ok. Avoid this company at all costs.
