Reckless Deathtrap Bus Tour's

We have a motto on our road's in South Africa... "Arrive Alive"!!! After my experience yesterday with one of your vehicle's, I can categorically state that, that is not the mission statement of your business.

I am shocked and embarrassed that, that is the calibre of driver you employ and entrust to take care of tourists and locals, as in school children etc.

What a poor reflection on our Country as a whole!!!

My Mother and I were driving towards Red Hill via Cape Point. Your vehicle was heading towards Cape Point via Scarborough.

I was approaching Perdekloof at the start of Red Hill, where to your left, is a yield, where the road forks left or right.

I was doing below the speed limit! I saw your vehicle approaching from my left, to turn right. At no point did your vehicle even attempt to slow down/brake and yield for me, who had right of way, going straight!

Instead he accelerated an ENORMOUS bus right through the yield and in front of my vehicle! Was I not driving a vehicle with phenomenal brakes, my Mother and I would have been yet another statistic!!! We were destined for a full on head on collision!!! Your reckless driver didn't even flinch!!!

What made this even worse was yet to come! I said to my Mother he has not only endangered us, but he has a bus full of innocent people!!! So I made a u~turn, as there were no other vehicle's around. I wished to get his registration and see what Company would condone such reckless endangerment. It took me seconds to turn my car around.

Only to find your vehicle had vanished! Which is odd, given the fact the road is for the most part straight!

I hand on heart admit I broke the speed limit looking for your vehicle! Your vehicle is very clearly marked that it must not exceed 100km's an hour... Please feel free to enlighten me then as to why, I had to do 130km's an hour to find and keep up with your vehicle so that my Mother could take picture's for me???

He only partially slowed down once he saw me licking the white line with the middle of my car so that he would notice me in his mirror!

All this to turn off at the Cape Point Ostrich Farm!!! Where I decided against following him down for a number of reasons. Firstly as I don't want to engage in a case of road rage in front of innocent tourists and leave a bad taste of South Africa in their mouths. Secondly, if this driver drive's like such a maniac, he must be even more aggressive when put on the spot!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was really under the impression that being on a "Tour Bus" meant that you take in all the sights, how on earth do your client's see anything when they're traveling at WARP SPEEDS!!!???

Another issue I have is that you are traveling that route due to our extensive Wildlife along the region. OFTEN there are ****** troops that are scattered along the road, foraging and being ******s, playful, lazy and giving the tourists Oscar Winning performances, they lie in the middle of the road!!! All it takes is your bus racing along and an entire troop will be eradicated!!! Even worse is the fact that we have ****** monitor's on foot, amongst them!!!

The speed limit along there is 80km's an hour... Your driver was going 50km's over that speed limit!!! Let that sink in!!! 50km's!!! No wonder there are so many bus accidents in South Africa!!! Your vehicle's have the potential to do wonders for the ever rising statistics!!!

You can rest assured I will make sure that none of my foreign guest's EVER make use of your "Deathtrap Tour's"!!! Word of mouth can make or break a business... Then again, so can a BAD DRIVER!!!

I have a photo of your vehicle, hindsight I wish I had got my Mom to record everything! I even stopped at the Cape Point gates to get a picture of the very clearly marked speed limit sign!!!

We as a society are always afraid to stand up for what is right, I refuse to be intimidated on the road or have my life and more importantly my Mother's life endangered just because you have schedules and more buses to fill for the day!!!

Also, thank you for making me waste petrol by having to turn back on myself and go home the way I came!!! Did your company miss the memo on the petrol hike!!!

I trust you will take your driver to task and also assess your vetting process to ensure this kind of potential carnage is removed from our road's!!!

Remember, the wheels on the bus can't go round and round if it's lying on it's ROOF!!!
