NOTICES POSTED DURING POST OFFICE STRIKE

Our Post Office was striking last year, for something like 6 months. Nobody received post. Certain industries realized this and made an effort to phone, sms, e-mailed accounts to their customers, but not Overstrand!<br> I own a holiday home in Betty's Bay. Overstrand post my accounts. I didn't receive the accounts, and as it is a holiday home, I didn't immediately realize this. They POSTED, yes, POSTED, again notices through a channel not working. They charged me for 3 notices posted R330 each. They cut my water, again, I didn't notice, I don't stay there. In total they charged me nearly R2000!!! I've now asked very politely to please credit some of this, explained why I didn't get notices, but nothing. They just stick to I had to pay! I've paid the full amount, but I'm really not happy. The last manager I mailed was Cheslin Swatz, a very polite mail explaining the situation. She basically told me to not bother her!! No consideration, nothing. They claim that they need to respond to mails within 10 working days!! A sorry excuse for poor service. I wont get a refund, but I need to raise my voice in disappointment!!
