Your premium is guaranteed for 12 months – NOT!

I contacted OUTsurance to update my policy on the 26/10/2016 with regards to one of my policies.

After our discussion I was given a premium of 1805.33 for my vehicles and household contents.

Part of the conversation was how long this is valid for, (and please go verify this on your recordings) that the premium was guaranteed for 12 months. Even on the policy it states as such.

So for November and December that was my premium, then from January 2017 it jumped to R1,913.02? So your guarantee as per your policy document states 12 months, where in fact its only 2?!?!?! – How does that work – is that what your guarantee truly worth?

Over and above that I have another policy for the building facility. This has jumped from R646.58 to R806.21 – that’s nearly 20% increase? How do you justify a 20% increase?

My
My car and house hold content policy, is back in line. I was given the explanation that the review of the policy happens on the anniversary of the policy, and not the amendment date. Clearly a training / process issue.
With regards to the building policy, I was not given an explanation, but it’s also now back in line.
