"You always get something out...."they say, but do you?

Unexpectedly sold our vehicle and proceeded to cancel insurance, but wanted to keep out and about for laptops, bikes etc. I was told this couldn't be done. I thought being a loyal customer for 10 years plus would count for something. I also promised that we would insure a new vehicle when we get one. Although I cancelled on 23/7/24, I thought the cover may go to the end of the month. The agent proceeded to tell me that over the 10 years I have been paying around R190 000, I made around 4 claims over that time. On 27/7/24 we booked into an upmarket guest house with armed response alarm systems. That night the house was burgled and they got away with my handbag and our laptop bag containing 2 laptops. I tried my utmost to get the two laptops covered and hoped that the 10 years plus and the few claims would count for something. They are quick to sell you the product but when you need them....they don't want to know your business. We talking less than R20 000. Although they say they have refunded me for the time, I have yet to see the payment in my account. So in my books, they should make good on "you always get something out" because in this case, it is not true. They should put their money where their mouth is.

Good day Loreen

We notice you loaged another complaint on this forum,

Treating all clients fairly and settling valid claims only, we again confirm the rejection of your claim was the correct decision.
You cancelled your policy  on 23 July  and wanted to claim for an incident that occurred on 27 July. We are not insensitive to the financial burden you incurred.

Regards
The OUTsurance Team
