You always get headaches out

I was involved in an accident with an Outsurance client last year. After subitting all the 3rd party claim documents, it took them around 6 weeks to process my claim that after continuously following up with them. They finally get back to me stating that they are writing my car off because the cost of repairs are more than 70% of the value of the car.

They quote the value of my vehicle as R39 900 using the Transunion guide. The repairs was R37 329 and they further obtained a cheaper quote from one of their authorised dealers of R30 289. The value of the vehicle in the market is curently around R60 000. After speaking to their Liability manager Lebogang Senne who is arrogant and has zero customer s****s I was told in no uncertain terms that I can take him to court and he will win the case because that is how it works and you have no choice.

They made me an offer of R17 028 which is 43% of the value that they quoted and I keep the car. So after being in an accident which was no fault of my own, it is going to cost me more to fix my car than than Outsurance. Moreover, they writing my car off and it is going to cost me even more to have the car roadworthy and the value of the car drops becuase it is a write off. This for a car that is worth R60 000 which I lose around half the value even after fixing it.

What happen to the principle of insurance in putting someone in the same position as they were before the incident? Is greed and profit the only motivation for this company?

Further I searched for the Transunion guide and did an online quote and they quoted the value of the car as R44 900 which is R5000 higher than what Outsurance told me. I taught maybe I did something wrong but the reference number quoted by Outsurance was the same as the reference number quoted by Transunion. Even though I got a quote from another site callled value your car and they quoted me the exact same value of R44 900.

So the mystery is why is Outsurances value less than the guide they use? Are they lowering the value only to jusify their greed of not having to pay for the full repairs?

Writing off a person car is a convenient way for them to ******* people as it costs them less than half of what they would have to pay. They dont care about you and the loss you have to endure.

I see how they come up with their motto - you always get something out - you never get the full value out only something but you get more headaches and hassles out.
