Worst Insurance Company!
I took out a home and car insurance policy with Outsurance in October 2024. As a foreigner, I wasn't fami**** with local pricing and accepted a car insurance premium of R2029/month, the same as I pay in London. When I started comparing quotes, I realised I was being hugely overcharged. Other reputable companies quoted me nearly half the price. I decided to keep my home insurance but cancel the car policy. When I called to do this, I was transferred to someone named Eugene, who kept me on the phone for 25 minutes trying to convince me not to cancel. He kept saying he was 'concerned' about me and refused to action my request-even though the terms and conditions state that I can cancel at any time. I told him I wanted to speak to a manager, and he put me on hold. I did not get to speak to a manager as Eugene was not going to give up, eventually I told him I would cancel my direct debit, which meant I would find home insurance elsewhere. At this stage, I had been on the call with Eugene for 34 minutes. Nowhere in the world have I experienced this level of disrespect from an insurance company. I was patronised, stalled, and treated as if I didn't know what I was doing. If I could give Outsurance 0 stars I would.
