Why lie to get a sale

I got a call from an outsurance agent 2-3 weeks ago asking me to refer someone and if they should sign up I would receive R400. I then referred my husband who signed up, as my husband was unable to speak to the agent on the phone I signed up for him by providing all his details which wasnt a problem then. The man then promised that I would receive the R400 as a discount on my policy at the end of September where I will then be able to cancel my policy on the 2nd October and add it to my husband's profile which I agreed to. I then got debited on the 03/10 and inquired this. The woman I spoke to explained something about 7 days between debit dates which the first man hadnt which is frustrating as he's created unrealistic expectations. I then called earlier to update my banking details where an Indian woman told me that outsurance's policy has changed in the last 2 weeks without sending clients'notifications and that I couldnt update my husbands banking details to ensure that his account could get debited at the end of the month.

Agents are in such a hurry to get a sale to get your money that they lie to clients on the phone but cant help you when you need to update information???

What can outsurance do?

Good day,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Dinesh our sales manager contacted you and apologized for the incorrect advice given. He ensured that both policies were updated correctly and that you have been noted as contact person on both policies thus enabling you to make changes on either policy.

Thanks, Kelvin
