Violation of the POPPI Act

My secretary's surname is very similar to ours but her first names are totally different. A couple of years ago whilst discussing a claim for me, as I was overseas, she queried something on her own account. We are not sure how it happened but suddenly I was receiving her emails and my husband her messages from Outsurance. We immediately corrected this. Since then my husband gets constant messages from marketing agents- IN MY SECRETARY'S NAME! Outsurance is the only one that has ever connected the two! This is an invasion of privacy and *******. The POPPI Act clearly states information is not to be passed on. The last straw is now it has been given to the ANC who message my husband constantly- again addressing him as my secretary. I am appalled that this is condoned within your company!

Your company is the only place that has ever linked that phone number with the name- there is no other explanation. You would not even know if an employee wrote numbers down and passed them on so how would you investigate it. The fact that you cannot take ownership of something which could only have originated from your company is very disturbing!
