******** and Despicable Business Ethics

I took 2 funeral policies with Outsurance around October 2020, one for my daughter and one for myself and my son. Both debits came off my account. In April 2021 I requested for the policies to be cancelled on the app as I lost my job and they didn't have an eft payment options as per the call center agent telephonic conversation. But to my surprise the debit orders went off in May again, we made another initiative to log a query on the app to cancel, then they called, canceled both policies and I received a confirmation email as well as sms that the policies were cancelled. On September 21st I received an in contact from my bank that R115 was debited from Outsurance, for a policy I did not activate or request a renewal for. I called the call center but wait on queue for over 5mins with a voicenote that their agents are working from home, sent 2 emails but no response, another R135 bank charge overdrawn on my account. Then on 23rd September I received an email from Outsurance stating OT***1 had been cancelled due to unpaid premiums. I left the company before because of incompetence and failure to deliver their promises. What they did is ******** and despicable. They *******ly activated a cancelled policy without my consent and *******ly debited my account. I want the bank charges to be refunded back into my account immediately.

Good afternoon Charlotte,

Following our private reply of last week, we can confirm that Michael has been in contact with you.

He informed you that the policy was paused due to non payment.

We did not receive any cancellation request and the email that was sent informed you that the policy was paused.

He has forwarded the email and sms to you as you informed him that you had never received it.

The sms was sent to your daughter, who is the policy holder.

Michael has asked that you refer any further concerns to him directly.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
OUTsurance
