Total ******* and Pathetic Service

I am absolutely disappointed and disgusted with Outsurance and the way they treat their "loyal" customers. After being a client with them for 14 years, they increased my car premium by 37% (higher than when first premium) and total premium by 20%, saying that it due to the hail damage claim from last year. After disputing this with Leroy APPOLLIS, his managers, Zama Sitchole and Bryan Rikhotso, came back saying they can only reduce my premium by increasing my excess. This proved a total lack of concern for a long term client wanting to cancel their policy, as they did not address my dispute. Leroy, instead of offering to go through my policy with me to see if there are any changes to my details/risk etc that could lower my premiums, chose to badmouth other insurance service providers by saying I may get a lower premium with MiWay and Budget but that is due to the hidden excesses that clients are charged and which they are not informed of upfront. This is a lame attempt to retain customers. I had to keep reminding Leroy that I am discussing my policy and contract with Outsurance and do not wish to discuss competitors. I needed an answer as to why my premium sky rocketed and what was going to be done to reduce the premium. Clearly customer retention is not the focus at Outsurance anymore. So sad cause this was once thee insurance company that I referred to all my family and friends.

____________________________________________________________

Dear Annaliza,

We note your disappointment and we are sorry to see we could not offer you a better rate on your insurance premium.

There are numerous things that we take into account when we re-rate our clients. Three of the most prominent factor are:

 1. Inflation - every year the general price level of everything increases (e.g. repair costs, cost of legal liability and employee salaries) and so the price of insurance naturally also increases
 2. Risk profile - here we take the claims history and payment history over the past year and rerate accordingly.
 3. New premiums - We also make sure that the rerated premium is in line with what we would charge the risk if it was sold in the current time period.

We trust this feedback is in order.

Regards,

Alet
