The UGLY Truth

A month ago we became just another crime statistic in SA being surprised by a couple of armed intruders in the early hours of the morning. Thank full for being alive and unharmed I wish this on no one. Emotionally it will take time but with the support of friends and loved ones we will heal. Our insurance company though are not making things easier. Replacing a couple of electronics and some of it with cheaper versions is their idea of good service. Still today we notice things that were taken for the house was ransacked. Not replacing clothes, handbags, tools, towels, etc. We are not even claiming for everything but asking for the items which will cost a person allot of money to replace. This is why people insure, not for out bonuses. The excuses these “educated” people come up with is frightening. Above all else our premium went up by R500 a month. No wonder Outsurance dropped in their ratings. Instead of giving away free movies on Box Office and paying retainer bonuses to your assessors start taking care of your paying customers. Being loyal customers for about nine years this is the service you get? Your services won’t be recommended by me but the UGLY truth will be shared.

Dear Ms Heumann

We note your disappointment and we are truly sorry to read about the unfortunate incident as we are not insensitive for your loss.

We regret to advise that we are unable to assist with the tools begin claimed for. Your husband opted not to cover these items he uses for business.

I've referred your policy to our client care department to review your facility but unfortunately you were not available when they phoned. Please contact our client care department for further assistance.

Kind regards,

Alet

Best regards,

Like I metioned, the excuses. Any and All items lost with the incident was personal. You were made aware of this. Bussiness tools were mentioned by your "qualified" assessor. We did send a formal complaint as per our legal advisors instructions and is patiently waiting for a formal reply before taking further steps.
