The greatest ************ in SA - OUTSURANCE
My car was broken into 2 months ago. The lock was damaged. The car was parked whilst I was walking around the Rondebosch Common with my daughter. The shocking response by Outsurance is as follows. In bulletin form so as to emphasise the numerous occasions of indifferEnt/ineffective service 1. - CAR was removed from Rondebosch Common by Outsurance appointed towtruck. This was taken to the OUTSURANCE appointed repairers. This was 8 weeks ago. We have been notified by garage that car is ready for collection today (I would like to emphasise that the outsurance appointed mechanics took 8 wees to repair an ignition lock 2. Since first lodging the claim, we have had NO communication from Outsurance checking up on the process moving slowly or any other. Not email or cellphone. Although the garage did communicate weekly. Somehow they have my details. 3. The total of the repair job is R 4 800. I was told this morning that my excess is R 6 000. I confirmed this with the Outsurance call centre, who doesn't seem to understand that Outsurance is making a profit on my repairs. 4. It was explained to me that because my daughter (24 yrs old) was the driver to the common, despite the car being unoccupied at the time, and Me, myself getting into the car, to drive back, after my walk, when the damage of the break in was discovered. Outsurance is holding fast that my excess (which was quoted to me as R 1 800 when I reported the incident) has changed to R 6 000 because my daughter drove the car to the common. this makes no sense whatsoever as the mishap was not caused by a.) any driver and b.) I was there and c.) I was driving home. 5. The only things that OUTSURANCE told me on the call was about the R 1 800 excess and the fact that I was losing my bonus. 6. The **** in a nutshell. a.) Outsurance makes R 1 200 profit on my misfortune b.) Excess more than trebled without any communication from Outsurance until today (did I mention 8 weeks of no communication or car/rental or otherwise any concerns ) c) Oh.. the outsurance bonus little dig.
WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO GO PUBLIC TO GET A RESPONSE. SURELY GOOD COMMUNICATION WOULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS TAKEN INTO AN OPEN FORUM
What you described goes against our value of awesome service and we will not tolerate bad service delivery.
Nthabiseng contacted you to apologise for the bad experience and she also informed you that the additional excess has been waived. We also notified the panel beater.
We do apologise for the bad experience.
Thank you,
Kelvin
