Thanks for NOTHING!

Thanks for NOTHING!

After many years of good service from a car insurance provider, I finally thought I'd change to OUTsurance... why?

Well they say: "You always get something out - We achieve industry topping levels of service and offer a host of free benefits. 95% Client Satisfaction. Easy Claims Settlement. Insurance Experts Insurance coverage: Car, Home, Life, Business"

I'm very disappointed in OUTsurance to say the least!
About 2 weeks ago I was involved in my very first car accident which left me rattled since I'd never been in any accident let alone had to claim from my car insurance before for anything.
Three cars were involved, the lady that hit me from behind was, like myself an innocent party as the lady behind her caused the accident.

Despite this being the very first time in such a situation, I took both other driver's details and even photos as proof then reported it immediately at the Bothasig Police Station.

Okay so I contact Outsurance thinking they'll handle this no problem. I give them the Police Case number telling them that I'm not prepared to claim from my own car insurance as I was hit from behind and (Car C) should be liable.

The consultant then logs the claim for record purposes and says she'll send me a letter stating that they are rejecting the claim and I should give it to the third party to claim, no further details were requested, absolutely nothing.

Well, I get the email and contact the insurance company of the lady who hit my car (Car B) who argues on behalf of her client who has put in a claim against (Car C) who hit her, that she's not to blame and advises me to get my insurance company (OUTsurance) to intercede in the 3rd Party Claim on my behalf also against (Car C).

When contacting OUTsurance again they arrange an appointment for me to have my car's damaged assessed at one of their assessment centres close to me which I agree to and do exactly that. A few hours later I receive a call that stresses me out into a panic as my car's rear bumper and boot damage (according to OUTsurance's assessor) is R26 968.00 and I have an excess of R3 820.00 THUS declared a WRITE OFF due to being uneconomical to replair due to my retail value being just R39 900.00 (not including the R3 820.00 excess still to be deducted).

I absolutely broke down!
My car is a Hyundai Getz 1.4 2006 model with just over 71 000km on the clock, full service history, never been in any accidents, no damage except a full scratches and finally paid off. So to suggest it's a write off and will pay me just Retail of R39 900.00 (excess deducted) or I can claim just R16 667.21 from my OUTsurance towards having it fixed which isn't enough according to their quote and I'm the innocent party so why should I pay for my own vehicle?!

Of course I responded saying that I refuse to have my car written off for some rear bumper/boot damage and will be getting more quotes on my own. I was informed in BOLD letters in email "Please note We will only act on your behalf if the claim is processed through OUTsurance". The last I heard from them was 30th August 2016...my problem now hey!

If my car insurance refuses to contact the third party insurance on my behalf assist me as their customer to ensure this is as stress free as possible then what do I have insurance with them for? I'm saving them money by wanting to claim from the third party, so why not help me?

You can even keep my ± R800 OUTbonus for just some help!

Where does this leave me now that the third party who caused the accident is just shrugging me off?

Who fights for me?

Thanks for nothing OUTsurance!
