Terrible claim experience

I'm an Outsurance client for more than 10 years and had previous claims that was handled very effectively and efficiently.

When I had a power failure and got damage to the alarm system, PC equipment and the fridge went all hot I decided to try and claim the damages instead of going the tedious process of a municipal claim as outsurance was in my previous claims quick and the service providers excellent. After having my PC parts tested I phoned outsurance with the full knowledge of what got damaged.
This time however it was not such a nice experience. Alarm system was covered under building insurance and rest under content cover. I was given the excess amount which seemed fair for the total amount of damage and I was told that a service provider will contact me and that I should go ahead to fix the alarm system with my service provider. This was on the Friday. After enquiring the monday when the service provider will collect the items, the service provider phoned me for lightning damage and I said it was not lighning damage. A representitive of the company arrived the next day to pick up the spares and do an inspection on the fridge. The wednesday I was called by the service provider telling me that the need the full PC box to test for lightning damage. Again I had to say it was a surge. I then told them that I'm not comfortable in giving them my box with the parts that was not damaged. I had damage to the powersupply, motherbord and 3 out of the 6 harddrives on my pc and the graphics card on my daughter's PC. The other 3 harddrives in my pc was still fine. I did not want to send all my components to be connected to a motherboard and powersupply that could possibly damage the working parts and sharing my private data with strangers is not what I am comfortable with. The thursday of the next week after a few e-mails I was placed on conference call with the suplier and was given 48 hours to now release both my and my daughters PC boxes to assess the damage to parts they already had. My daugjter is writing exams and needs her PC and still broken parts had to be connected to working parts which does not make any sense. This is to me the most unprofessional way of dealing with this matter and i then cancelled the claim to rather go the municipal claims route as the excess cost now increased again as well. The building excess is more than the damage to the alarm so I guess I now will carry that cost myself.
Seems time to look for a new isurance broker.

PC parts was picked up and tested. Claim was approved and the products was dispatched.
The fridge however totally dissapeared from the claim.
I already replaced the fridge with a second hand unit and sold the old one for s**** as I could not wait longer for to have a working fridge.
Worst service I ever received from outsurance, at least my damage to the PC's problem was solved.
