Stay Out of OUT
I recently called Outsurance to get a quote on my car insurance as they advertise that they will beat any quote. When they could not match my existing insurance, I asked about the R1500 they advertised if they were more expensive. The consultant assured me they will keep their promise .She then offered me Household contents cover which i accepted. I then sent them a schedule of my existing cover. After crunching the numbers and looking at my budget, i realised i will not be able to afford the Household cover in the current financial climate. I called and cancelled.
I got a call back saying that since i had accepted the household contents cover, i was regarded as a client of Outsurance and did not qualify for the R1500 as it was only for non clients . I objected as i had only accepted the Household contents cover after they were unable to match my exiting cover.
I was told they would get back to me.
I have yet to receive a response.
This is a flagrant case of false advertising and misrepresentation.
I was called by Outsurtance and advised that since i accepted the household contents cover(which was discussed when they couldnt match the car insurance cover), I was deemed as a client and did not qualify for the promotion as promised.
So effectively, since i had been con(vince)ed into joining them, They did not have to keep their word.
With these kind of business ethics, i seriously pity the client that has to claim .
If you are serious about your peace of mind, especially in these tough economic times, I would seriously stay Out of Outsurance!

She called to acknowledge your complaint and address your concerns. She highlighted the Terms and Conditions of the promotion that make you not illegible to qualify for the promotion. When you are quoted and accept cover, you become an OUTsurance client.
